Apple also provides extra protection to the windshield, with a ceramic coating that is more scratch resistant and shatter resistant when dropped. The screen supports Dolby Vision, the HDR10 standard, and a brightness of up to 1200 nits. What’s new in the iPhone 12 for the ability to take photos is a night mode which can be activated when using the ultra wide sensor (and the front camera sensor), as well as night portrait mode using the LiDAR Scanner. Simply put, this is a much more sophisticated version of the depth sensor from Apple, so it can detect all existing objects accurately, even in low light conditions.
